This research presents SUPERMAN (Security Using Pre-Existing Routing for Mobile Ad hoc Networks), a novel security framework designed to enhance the robustness and resilience of Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). In the dynamic and decentralized nature of MANETs, ensuring secure and reliable communication poses significant challenges. SUPERMAN leverages pre-existing routing mechanisms to integrate security features, enhancing the overall trustworthiness of the network.

The framework employs a proactive approach, utilizing information from established routing protocols to dynamically adapt security measures. SUPERMAN introduces mechanisms for intrusion detection, authentication, and key management, capitalizing on the existing routing infrastructure to minimize overhead and improve efficiency.

Simulation experiments are conducted using NS2 (Network Simulator 2) to evaluate the performance of SUPERMAN under varying network conditions, including node mobility and adversarial scenarios. Key security metrics, such as intrusion detection accuracy, authentication success rates, and overall network resilience, are analyzed to assess the effectiveness of the proposed framework.
